About the
Show
The Graphic Design: Student Juried Exhibition is an annual event showcasing the best work of students in the graphic design program at Parkland College.
Each year, hundreds of people view the exhibition in the Parkland Art Gallery. Ad agency principals, creative directors, art directors and other professionals in the marketing communication industry are invited to view the show.
Important
Dates
Tuesday, April 30: Entry deadline extended. Absolutely last day to hand-deliver entries for jurying to your instructor.
Monday, May 6: Notification of unaccepted entries. You will receive an email only if your entry was not accepted into the show. If you wish to have your entry returned, unaccepted entries may be picked up in the Art Gallery (10am–7pm).
Monday, May 13: Exhibit opens. Summer gallery hours are Monday–Thursday, 10am–7pm.
Thursday, May 16: Opening reception. Food and drinks with musical performance by Parkland Guitar Ensemble from 6–8pm in the Gallery Lounge. Awards ceremony at 7pm. Reception co-sponsored by CUDO.
Monday, May 27: Gallery closed for Memorial Day.
Wednesday, June 19 at 10:00am. Gallery talk with Professor of Graphic Design at Parkland College.
Thursday, June 20: Exhibit closes.
Monday, June 24: Return of artwork. You may pick up your work in the Art Gallery between 10am–3pm or by special arrangement (if you wish to have your entry returned).
Monday, August 26: Disposal of artwork. If you can't come to the Art Gallery during designated times, you may arrange for pick up by contacting the Art Gallery at 217-351-2485. If you do not make arrangements, your entry will be discarded or saved for a silent auction benefiting the Parkland Art Gallery.
