Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to submit recommendations for your promotional web presence. The following is a summation of our discussion held Wednesday, January 28 concerning the new web site design. As we discussed, it would be in your best interest to develop two web sites, one focused on the Alexander Technique teaching services, the second promoting your musical services and performances. Both sites can be accessible from one home page.

BACKGROUND: Mr. Baer has played and taught clarinet professionally for many years. He is currently a clarinet professor at Millikin University, performing locally as well as on tour nationally. Mr. Baer also has been trained in the Alexander Technique and offers lessons in this discipline.

TARGET AUDIENCE: The audience the web sites will attract will range in age. The sites will target music enthusiasts, music students, Alexander students and scholars.

CHARACTER OF THE NEW WEB SITES: The new web site design should be warm, friendly, calm, inviting, intriguing, informative, professional, dependable, friendly, and trustworthy. The web site focusing on your musical talents, performance calendar and teaching services offered should be uncomplicated. Parents seeking musical instruction for their children should sense security and warmth. A solo CD of classical clarinet compositions will be sold on the musical site as well as a thesis. The Alexander Technique site should instill interest in the audience and stir their desire to better understand the Alexander Technique. Your resume should also be made available on both sites.

APPLICATION: The new web design will be optimized for 800 x 600 resolution monitors. The site will be accessible to anyone, young or old, so it must have the functionality to be user friendly to any standard or non-standard browser. The design should be flexible in order for any future changes to be accommodated. The calendar page will be designed so that it could be easily updated through a browser without any technical knowledge. And finally, care should be taken to keep download times to a minimum. The current logo (the clarinet illustration) will also be incorporated into the site.

NEXT STEPS: Attached is our first draft of a site map for your new web sites. Please review the structure and contents and note any changes or suggestions you may have. You will also need to register a domain name (www.solomonbaer.com is available) and contract with a web hosting service. We recommend www.superuser.net for both functions (click on ORDER). The cost is $3.95 per month. Upon completion of registration, please forward your user name and password to us and we will immediately publish a "coming soon" page.
