Subject: Web Site Re-design
Date: September 25, 2009

Thank you for the opportunity to offer some recommendations for your
web site re-design. The following is a summary of objectives for this
project.

Background: Joan Stolz is a well-established professional artist and
professor of art. Her extensive portfolio includes paintings of all
media, her favorite being oil. She rarely does work on commission;
instead she focuses on her own interests, which is currently a study
of dogs.

Target Audience: The target audience includes professional colleagues,
art galleries, and buyers of fine art.

Objectives: The purpose of the web re-design is to enhance clarity,
decrease download times, and to give the site a fresh look. The goal
is to create a web site that presents Joan’s artwork in a simple,
clean, classy, conservative, orderly, professional manner with an air
of understated elegance. The background should be neutral in color, no
animation, no large borders or intrusive type, and no background
images. Text and navigation techniques should be “quiet” elements on
the page rather than an additional distraction. The artwork needs to
be the focal point without distractions.

Application: The finished web site will be published under Joan's own
domain name. She will maintain this web site on her own, so ease of
updating will be a consideration.

again and we look forward to presenting our design proposals soon.
