Hamilton
Wood Type Museum Wayzgoose Conference
Field Trip

With a sterling slate of swell speakers, Hamilton's third annual type conference promises to be the best yet. Confirmed speakers include type designer Matthew Carter, Jim Sherraden & Brad Vetter from Hatch Show Print, wood engraver Deborah Mae Broad, Tracy Honn of Silver Buckle Press, master typecaster Stan Nelson, lettering legend Paul Shaw, Sara Langworthy of the University of Iowa, and the estimable Dave Peat.

Marking the end of summer, Wayzgoose traditionally commemorates an annual gathering of printing staff as they used the last of the season's pulp to paper the windows in preparation for winter. Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum is once again hosting a modern revival in Two Rivers, Wisconsin with demonstrations, workshops and lectures that are guaranteed to cross your eyes and dot your tees.

Hamilton Wood Type began producing type in 1880 and within 20 years became the largest provider in the United States. Today, volunteers of the Two Rivers Historical Society preserve this legacy and host educational demonstrations, field trips, workshops and offer opportunities with this vast wood type collection. The museum also illustrates antique printing technologies including the production of hot metal type, hand-operated printing presses, tools of the craft and rare type specimen catalogs.
